Riverfront Cruises in Fort Lauderdale

Everywhere you go there are so many unique attractions to take but one of our favorite tours to take is a sightseeing cruise on the water. With the warm breeze, salty air and amazing sights on the water this makes for a fun time.

The Best Fort Lauderdale Sightseeing Cruises

Fort Lauderdale is considered the Venice of America because of the many waterways and canals throughout the city. However, the only way to see this beauty is by a boat tour with Riverfront Cruises. They're daily cruises will give you a chance to navigate through Fort Lauderdale's New River.

The Tour and Sightseeing Cruises

As you navigate the waterways, you'll actually be on a few different rivers. Riverfront cruises starts on the New River then will begin the tour cruise East to Fort Lauderdale beach. From here you will also cruise through the Stranahan River and New River Sound during your tour. Although, the waterways look the same, you will be on three different ones.

Throughout the journey, you will pass by amazing homes and mansions as your tour guides points out which home is owned by whom.

Mansions

One huge mansion you're sure to know is Wayne Huizenga, he is the former owner of Blockbuster video, AutoNation, Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers and the Florida Marlins. His house is hard to miss because of its size.

Historic Highlights

Besides mansions, there are many historic and important highlights you will want to know throughout the tour.

As the cruise continues to navigate the New River your guide will point out the moment you travel over the tunnel that goes underneath the New River. This unique spot is a great reminder that this area is developed.

In addition, the guide will point out the Stranahan House - the oldest structure in Fort Lauderdale. Built in 1901, it served as a trading post, post office, and community gathering spot. It's a great reminder of what Fort Lauderdale used to be. (Keep in mind, it was the tallest structure in Fort Lauderdale at one point.)
